Growing Out Bangs

Addisan looking not-so pleased.

Growing out bangs is no fun at any age. It took me my entire senior year in college to grow mine out. I am hoping to grow out Addisan's bangs before she minds food being stuck in her hair. Some days she will keep barrettes in while other days, no way! Her hair is almost long enough to put behind her ears....YEA! To be quite honest, the reason why I don't want her to have bangs is pure laziness.....I don't want to have to trim them. Here is a picture of her first hair cut last month where they trimmed the back so it was not mullet like (though we are in South now, there is no excuse for the business in the front and party in the back attitude at any age) and a picture of her now.The finished look!

Potty Traning

Addisan looking a little confused where underwear goes.

Addisan truly believes that she is older than she really is.....21 months going on 8 years old. She has been showing interest in potty training, so I am trying to follow her lead. She has been running to the potty after the fact. So I purchased underwear for her thinking that if she feels yucky wetness in her big girl drawers, it might help foster this transition to the potty. Needless to say this is a project in process. Daddy is denying the fact that his little girl is growing up and the picture says it all:)

New Adventure

This was the first time I was able to hold my little girl.

This is our new way of trying to preserve and share those precious moments of our little ones (both our two legged and four legged kids). We hope that our family and friends back home can follow our adventures and mishaps. It amazes me how quickly time flies. It seems as it was just the other day that Addisan surprised us 6 1/2 weeks early after I came down with pre-eclampsia and arriving at 3 pounds 2 ounces. On her first birthday, our pediatrician said that she was not considered a preemie anymore and was caught up developmentally. This was the best birthday gift she could have asked for!

I need to thank my friend Clare for inspiring me to finally do a blog.
